Stay away from this pharmacy, they’re scammers! I went to this pharmacy to get my doctor prescribed prenatal vitamins, upon arriving the pharmacist and the pharmacy tech ignored me for at least 15 minutes, they just keep their heads down and continued to count & bottle pills. The customer in front of you should always come first and I was the only customer there so it’s not like they were bottling those pills for customers that were waiting in line. Anyway, eventually the pharm tech acknowledged me and took my insurance, etc. Then she didn’t say anything else. Again, I continued to wait for another 10-15 minutes. At that point, I asked if I could shop around the supermarket and return to the pharmacy desk on my way out, that’s when the pharmacist told the pharm tech to tell me that my insurance doesn’t cover prenatal vitamins and that it would cost me $6 to get 30 prenatal vitamins. I found this to be VERY weird and surprising that my insurance (which happens to be Healthfirst) would deny a pregnant woman prenatal vitamins for her and her baby. I told them to forget about it. I’ve bought prenatal vitamins in the past and I figured I could just buy it over the counter for around the same price, especially if I go to Costco, I could get a large bottle with 150+ pills for around $20. Long story short, I went to a different pharmacy down the block a few days later and they filled my prescription with no issue whatsoever and $0 co-pay/ out of pocket. I read some reviews that 145th st pharmacy tries to double charge people by billing their insurance and lying to them by saying that they still need to pay out of pocket. I now believe it and all I have to say is: SHAME ON YOU! I’m disgusted and saddened that you try to take advantage of vulnerable low-income individuals such as pregnant women and sick people. This pharmacy and pharmacist should not be allowed to operate due their unethical practices.

This is my normal pharmacy. But Today I had a to pick up a prescription for my boyfriend who was experiencing major pain from two tooth extractions . I went in the morning to obtain the medicine but apparently the dentist office put in too many prescriptions and changed the mg so now it need to be verified by the dentist. I understood this . Me and boyfriend struggled with calling the dentist and then the pharmacy numerous times so that everything could be settled so he could finally get his medicine. It is now 3pm and still no medicine. The pharmacist is likely just following procedure so I don't blame her for that but her attitude is just very rude. My boyfriend told me how she behaved when he called again asking about his meds. She was very short and rude . Although this situation maybe be frustrating on her part , he as the customer has nothing to do with it . He is simply calling because he truly need his meds. And the communication between the dentist and pharmacy seem nonexistent. You don't blame the customer for doctors mistake. It is very unprofessional. We were only trying to be the middle man in hopes to clear things up and get the meds faster .

I was with this pharmacy for about 2 years and a half and I have seen them change complete staffing 3 times. It has only been getting worse. Today I finally gave up and took my business elsewhere. I was treated with so much disrespect that even my Medicare plan staff who at the time was trying to explain to the new pharmacist that there must be a mistake on her side that I should report the incident to Medicaid. They gave me the number and will try to briefly explain the situation. I got my Medicaid recently reaciviatated and my health first. My health first will kick in next month and my only current active insurance is Medicaid. I explained to her since last week, Friday to verify that it was working and she added more drama then needed to the point that where I renewed said it was active and no need to come again or keep calling. Then the final straw, the pharmacist tried to scam me by saying that i had to pay for my medication that the "system" said that was reported on her end. I called Medicaid and they even spoke to her and said NO. I am fully covered and my medication is FULLY covered. She couldn't even explain these charges were appearing when we BOTH told her to charge Medicaid only and the same card info was kept. The pharmacist in front of the Medicaid employee over the phone was interrupting us both and talking over me several times. Was calling me the lier and ignored questions to continue ranting over her own case. It was so poorly addressed from her end that i was urged to go elsewhere. When i went over to the pharmacy she was only slightly more polite, i made it clear I did not want to get into things again and I was only here for a pickup of my info to go elsewhere. She started talking again, getting into things and i told her if she has just calmed down and listen to the information given she would do her job better. She asked me for my card again to try and prove her point that it was on OUR end the error but failed. She said it was not only working now but it was fully covering the medication...... you got to be kidding me... I told her that the Medicaid lady explained to her that it was and they NEVER got the request for my medication coverage payment. This means the pharmacist didnt even check and now that she does she wants to now provide me with the service. I refuse because of how poorly I was treated and how unprofessional she was. At the end of the day i went elsewhere to a nearby pharmacy who gave me no issues with my insurance. Gace me my medication in under 10mins and said everything with my insurance went through fine within the first attempt. I would suggest if you are being charged for medications to be informed ahead of time if they are covered because like the lady from Medicaid said these pharmacies do these sorta things often that they get a lot of these situations. This was my first and lucky I only have 1 but what of the seniors and those that take several more meds? How much do they get scammed? Be informed and never settle for mediocre customer service. The new pharmacist name is Julie Jeong. Do not let her belittle, harass or intimidate you because she has this miss know it all rude attitude. In person she is slightly more time down but over the phone she is one of those who feels she can do and say what she wants like a street thugs and does not behave like a medical professional at all. First time seeing this level of maturity in a pharmacist.

Strangely, the pharmacist and her two assistants were not properly masked, despite a clearly visible sign, inside the pharmacy, stating that masks are required. (One assistant had on a mask, but it only covered her chin.) I’m leaving this review in the middle of the omicron surge.
